Alex Yang

President and CEO

Prior to founding Xelay Acumen, Inc, Alex Yang MD MBA gained an extensive 15+ years of senior management experiences in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care provider industries with deep expertise across various functions including Medical Affairs, Marketing, Corporate Strategy, Pricing, Contracting, and Data Analytics.

Dr. Yang is a former McKinsey consultant and has advised senior management of 7 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.

Dr. Yang received his BS degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MD from the University of Chicago, and MBA from the University of Chicago.

Diana Chang

Senior Associate, Consulting
Program Manager, Development

Diana is a Senior Associate in the Consulting group and a Program Manager in the Foundation group. Diana has served 7 clients on over 75 projects across a variety of functions including Advisory Boards, Program Development (Foundation), Medical Education, Events Planning and Strategy, Publications, and KOL Engagement and Cultivation in a variety of areas including urology and oncology.

Prior to Xelay, Diana gained a breadth of experience in neurology medical research and nonprofit operations management and an expertise in grant compliance monitoring. Diana received her BS in Biology from University of Washington.

In her spare time, Diana enjoys hiking, baking, and hanging out with friends.

April Chen

Associate, Consulting
Executive Director of Community Engagement

April is an Associate in the Consulting group and the Executive Director of Community Engagement in the Foundation group. April has served 6 clients over 45 projects across a variety of functions including Publication Planning and Strategy, Medical Writing, Scientific Platform, Advisory Boards, Business Development, and Program Development (Foundation) as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Nephrology and Dialysis.

Prior to Xelay, April gained a breadth of experience in biochemistry research, medical interpretation, and health education. April received her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Biochemistry emphasis from the University of California, Berkeley.

In her spare time, April enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with friends.

Kelly Chu

Senior Analyst, Consulting

Kelly is a Senior Analyst in the Consulting group. Kelly has served 4 clients on over 25 projects across a variety of functions including Publication Planning and Strategy, Medical Literature, Data Analytics, and Scientific Platform, as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Oncology, Immuno-oncology, Nephrology, and Urology.

Prior to Xelay, Kelly gained a breadth of experience directing a healthcare interpretation volunteer organization, working at an environmental behavior change non-profit, and tutoring undergraduates in chemistry. Kelly received her BA in Economics from UC Berkeley.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoys reading, playing music, and watching sports.

Ivy Zhou

Ivy is an Analyst in the Consulting group. Ivy has served 4 clients on over 12 projects across a variety of functions including Advisory Boards, Medical Literature, and Data Analytics as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Oncology, Immuno-oncology and Urology.

Prior to Xelay, Ivy gained experiences in industrial and operations research. She received her MS in Engineering at University of California, Berkeley.

Michael Morgan

Prior to Xelay, Michael gained a breadth of experience in Emergency Medicine, Metagenomic Research, and Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. Michael received His BS in Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing guitar, learning new languages, and swing dancing.

Across 20 individuals with MDs, PhDs, and PharmDs, the group collectively holds over 200 years of experience in medical communications, and has completed over 500 publications while at Xelay Acumen.

J.H. is a Medical Writer in the Publications group. J.H. received her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology and PhD in Endocrinology at UC Berkeley. With 18 years experience in the medical communications, J.H. has served clients on publications in a variety of therapeutic areas including oncology, nephrology, hematology and infectious diseases, and immunology.

I.K. is a Medical Writer in the Publications group. I.K. received her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley and PhD in Microbiology at UC San Francisco. Prior to joining Xelay, A.S. gained a breadth of experience at an international research group focusing on surgical site infection prevention in low- and middle-income countries and several pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Prior to Xelay, Steven gained a breadth of experience in Research and Development and an expertise in the Optimization of Slurry Formulations. Steven received his BA in Political Science from the University of Washington.

In his spare time, Steven enjoys movies, hiking and going to Costco.

Prior to Xelay, Judy gained a breadth of experience in research and an expertise in analytics. Judy received her BS in Applied Mathematics with a focus in Economics from Washington State University and MS from Georgetown University.

Raymond Chang

Prior to Xelay, Raymond gained a breadth of experience in Financial Technology Startups and an expertise in econometrics. Raymond received his BA in Economics with a focus in Entrepreneurship from University of Washington.

Mengxi Nie

Mengxi is a Analyst in the Analytics and Information groups. Prior to Xelay, Mengxi gained a breadth of experience in financial analysis and quality/performance improvement analysis within hospitals. Mengxi received her BA in Public Health Management from Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and her MPH in Health Policy and Management from UCLA.

In her spare time, Mengxi enjoys traveling, singing karaoke with friends, and dancing.

Hiu Cheung

Analyst, Analytics and Information

Hiu is an Analyst in the Analytics and Information group. Hiu has served 4 clients on over 12 projects across a variety of functions including Medical Analytics, Data Analytics, and Medical Information as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Urology and Oncology.

Prior to Xelay, Hiu gained a breadth of experience in data analysis in business development. Hiu received her BS in Applied Mathematics with an Actuarial Science emphasis at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Joanna Fan

Prior to Xelay, Joanna gained experiences in actuarial consulting and investment banking. She received her BS in Economics at Duke University.

Aoife is the CFO and Director of the Events group. Prior to Xelay, Aoife gained a breadth of experience in business management and an expertise in outstanding customer engagement and relationship development. Aoife received her BA in Business with a focus in Management from San Francisco State University.

Elizabeth Warburton

Manager, Corporate Operations

Elizabeth is a Manager of Corporate Operations in the Events and Corporate Operations groups. Elizabeth has served 7 clients on over 60 projects across a variety of functions including Logistics, Events Planning and Strategy, Vendor Negotiation and Management, and Business Forecasting.

Prior to Xelay, Elizabeth gained a breadth of experience in organizational development, business planning, and sales strategy with an expertise in logistics and vendor communications. Elizabeth received an MA in Organizational Sociology from Cornell University and MSc in International Economic Policy from the London School of Economics.
