Alex Yang

President and CEO

Prior to founding Xelay Acumen, Inc, Alex Yang MD MBA gained an extensive 15+ years of senior management experiences in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care provider industries with deep expertise across various functions including Medical Affairs, Marketing, Corporate Strategy, Pricing, Contracting, and Data Analytics.

Dr. Yang is a former McKinsey consultant and has advised senior management of 7 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.

Dr. Yang received his BS degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MD from the University of Chicago, and MBA from the University of Chicago.

Jason Lo

Manager, Consulting

Jason is a Manager in the Consulting group. Since 2014, Jason has served 7 clients on over 75 projects across a variety of functions including Strategic Planning, Advisory Boards, HEOR, Scientific Platform, Congress Strategy, KOL Engagement and Cultivation, Business Development, Launch Planning, Medical Information and Communication, as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Diabetes, Nephrology, Dialysis, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Neurology and Hospitalist Medicine.

Prior to Xelay, Jason gained a breadth of experience in research and science in oncology and an expertise in communication of findings. Jason received his BA in Chemistry from Emory University.

In his spare time, Jason enjoys playing the violin, enjoying the natural wonders of the Bay, and exploring the Bay Area’s top rated restaurants.

Diana Chao

Diana is Associate in the Consulting group and a Program Manager in the Foundation group. Diana has served 4 clients on over 30 projects across a variety of functions including Advisory Boards, Program Development (Foundation), Medical Education, Events Planning and Strategy, Publications, and KOL Engagement and Cultivation in a variety of areas including urology and oncology.

Prior to Xelay, Diana gained a breadth of experience in neurology medical research and nonprofit operations management and an expertise in grant compliance monitoring. Diana received her BS in Biology from University of Washington.

In her spare time, Diana enjoys hiking, baking, and hanging out with friends.

Ember Lu, PharmD

Ember is an Associate in the Consulting group. Ember has served 3 clients on over 15 projects across a variety of functions including Advisory Boards, Strategic Planning, Medical Education, Medical Information, Publications, and KOL Engagement and Cultivation as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Nephrology and Urology.

Prior to Xelay, Ember gained a breadth of experience in healthcare entrepreneurship and health economics research with a focus in vaccines. Ember received her PharmD in 2015.

Krishna Shukla

Prior to Xelay, Krishna gained a breadth of experience in medical administration at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and operations for Dr. Alok Mehta's clinic. Krishna received her BS in Dentistry from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, India and her MS in Health Administration from University of Southern California.

April Chen

Prior to Xelay, April gained a breadth of experience in biochemistry research, medical interpretation, and health education. April received her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Biochemistry emphasis from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jay Chung

Jay is an Analyst in the Consulting group. Prior to Xelay, Jay gained a breadth of experience in startup enterprises and through his South Korean military service. Jay received his BS in Industrial Engineering at Northwestern University.

Kelly Chu

Llyke Ching

Llyke is a Analyst in the Consulting group. Llyke has served 3 clients on over 10 projects across a variety of functions including Publication Planning and Strategy, Medical Information, and Medical Literature as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Urology and Oncology.

Prior to Xelay, Llyke gained a breadth of experience as a chemistry technician at UC Berkeley College of Chemistry, volunteer medical interpreter and labor coach for organizations that serve monolingual patients in the Bay Area, and scribe for healthcare providers at DaVita Medical Group and Catholic Health Initiatives.  Llyke received her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology and a BS in Nutritional Science from UC Berkeley.

In her spare time, Llyke likes to practice archery, volunteer for local organizations that provide health care access, and play with dogs.

The Medical and Scientific group include advanced scientific doctorate degrees from life science academic institutions including University of Chicago, UCLA, UC San Diego, Stanford, UC San Francisco, UC Berkeley, MIT, Yale, Northwestern, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, University of Maryland, University of Oxford, Rutgers University, Binghamton University, and University of Pittsburgh.

Across 20 individuals with MDs, PhDs, and PharmDs, the group collectively holds over 200 years of experience in medical communications, and has completed over 500 publications while at Xelay Acumen.

J.H.

Medical Writer

J.H. is a Medical Writer in the Publications group. J.H. did her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology and PhD in Endocrinology at UC Berkeley. With 18 years experience in the medical communications, J.H. has served clients on publications in a variety of therapeutic areas including oncology, nephrology, hematology and infectious diseases, and immunology.

I.K.

Medical Writer

I.K. is a Medical Writer in the Publications group. I.K. did her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley and PhD in Microbiology at UC San Francisco. With 15 years experience in medical communications, I.K. has served clients on publications in a variety of therapeutic areas including oncology, nephrology, hematology, and infectious diseases.

Prior to Xelay, Steven gained a breadth of experience in Research and Development and an expertise in the Optimization of Slurry Formulations. Steven received his BA in Political Science from the University of Washington.

Dimin Xu

Judy Chen

Mengxi Nie

Mengxi received her Bachelor of Management with a focus in Public Health Management from Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and her Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from UCLA.

Cory Mekelburg

Cory is an Analyst in the Analytics and Information group. Cory has served 6 clients on over 45 projects across a variety of functions including Medical Analytics, Medical Information, Scientific Platform, and Med Literature as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Nephrology, Cardiology, and Pain Management.

Prior to Xelay, Cory gained a breadth of experience in materials research, lab-to-plant scale-up, and quality assurance and an expertise in data analytics and process development. Cory received his BS in Materials and Physical Science with a focus in Philosophy from the University of Maryland.

In his spare time, Cory enjoys numismatics, Washington Capitals hockey, and running his own collectibles business.

Louis Xu

Analyst, Analytics and Information

Louis is an Analyst in the Analytics and Information group. Louis has served 5 clients on over 25 projects across a variety of functions including Data Analytics, Medical Analytics, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Preclinical Sciences, and Medical Information as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Urology and Oncology.

Prior to Xelay, Louis gained a breadth of experience in investment banking at Lincoln International, private equity at IPV Capital, and physics research at CERN.
Louis received his BS in Mathematics and BS in Computer Science degrees from Duke University.

Grace is an Analyst in the Analytics and Information group. Grace has served 5 clients on over 17 projects across a variety of functions including Medical Analytics, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, KOL Engagement and Cultivation, and Data Analytics as well as a variety of therapeutic areas including Urology and Oncology.

Prior to Xelay, Grace gained a breadth of experience in data analytics in the financial sector, as well as transportation and supply chain analysis in retail and manufacturing. Grace received her BS at University of Science and Technology Beijing and her MS at Columbia University in NYC.

Aoife is the CFO and Director of the Events group. Elizabeth Warburton

Manager, Corporate Operations

Elizabeth is a Manager of Corporate Operations in the Events and Corporate Operations groups. Elizabeth has served 7 clients on over 60 projects across a variety of functions including Logistics, Events Planning and Strategy, Vendor Negotiation and Management, and Business Forecasting.

Prior to Xelay, Elizabeth gained a breadth of experience in organizational development, business planning, and sales strategy with an expertise in logistics and vendor communications. Elizabeth received an MA in Organizational Sociology from Cornell University and MSc in International Economic Policy from the London School of Economics.

In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys travel and spending time with family.
